Carmel awarded Historical Association Fellowship

Carmel was blown away to be awarded a prestigious Fellowship of the Historical Association at the Annual Awards Ceremony held on 15th June 2017 at the famous  Foyles Bookshop on Charring Cross Road in central London.

Each year the Historical Association recognises those individuals whose enthusiasm for history ensures their branches survive with Honorary Fellowships. Winners include those in education who put on workshops, write for the journals and the web, who enthuse new generations of teachers, whose research informs UK history teaching and makes England the country the rest of the world looks to for outstanding history pedagogy.

Carmel's hard work in the field of education and her particular enthusiasm for History saw her nominated in early 2017. She was presented with the Fellowship at the Awards Ceremony in June – joining Mary Beard (who delivered the annual Medlicott Lecture as she received the Associations highest honour – the Medlicott Medal).
